Personal Licence Applications in England & Wales
Application Process – How to Apply for a Personal Licence: If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can initiate the application process by completing a form provided by your local council. Alongside this form, you will need to submit the following:
  • Your original APLH certificate or a certified copy (will be returned to you).
  • Completion of a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service), costing £25 for a basic check, dated within a month.
  • Two passport-sized photographs, one of which must be endorsed as a true likeness by a solicitor, Notary Public, person of standing in the community, or a professional with relevant qualifications.
  • The appropriate fee (varies by council).
